Colvin Cleaners is looking for several thousand prom gowns to be donated for teenagers attending proms this year.
The 12th annual Gowns for Prom campaign kicked off Friday. The project provides cheap prom dresses gowns free of charge to young ladies from high schools throughout Western New York who could not otherwise afford a gown.
Gowns can be donated from Monday through March 31 at Allstate, Reeds Jenss, Delta Sonic and Colvin Cleaners locations as well as the Shea's ticket office.
The dresses will be distributed from the Shea's Performing Arts stage April 4, 5, and 6. Teenagers will select a gown and have it fitted by professional seamstresses before it is altered, dry cleaned, packaged and delivered for free by Colvin Cleaners to the student's school in time for the prom.
Volunteers 18 and over are needed at Shea's to help distribute and restock Unique Prom Dresses For Sale gowns and monitor the dressing rooms. Seamstresses and tailors to assist with alterations also are needed.

who otherwise could not have afforded a prom gown, is priceless,” says Paul Billoni, owner and president of Colvin Cleaners.
