We had fitting rooms and personal shoppers prom dresses to help the girls to make it really special

She made a connection with a few local business owners who were willing to use their shops as drop off sites and temporary storage and now has more than 1,000 Prom Dresses Unique dresses stored in wardrobe boxes at The Wishing Well Foundation in Tacoma.

This past spring, she and her friends brought everything out of storage and hosted a special event for foster girls to go “shopping” for dresses to wear to their proms.

“We had fitting rooms and personal shoppers to help the girls to make it really special,” she said. “The personal shoppers helped them pick out their dresses and also purses and shoes and jewelry for their complete prom outfit.”

Next spring in March or April she’ll host a similar event — perhaps on two consecutive weekends.

Joseph has set up seven donation sites throughout Pierce County, including one in Gig Harbor at Studio Six hair salon in Uptown.
